S.A. Wolter grew up dreaming under epic North Dakota skies, surrounded by hard red spring wheat, Black Angus, and family. She earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Hamline University. While at Hamline she was a graduate teacher and an assistant fiction editor of Water~Stone Review, Vol. 19. She has been twice honored with Minnesota Artist Initiative Grants in prose and was a 2014 Loft Mentor Series fellow. These days she abandons the main floor of her home to a work-from-home husband and opinionated cat to hole up in the basement and work on her novel.
